Egypt Nile Cruises

Just the words “Egypt Nile cruises” bring visions of exotic surroundings, gorgeous scenery and the mysterious sites and historic locations along the enormous river. Stretching far beyond Egypt, the Nile is still most strongly associated with its people and its agriculture, and one of the most popular activities for visitors to enjoy is one of the many remarkably scenic Egypt Nile Cruises.

Of course not everyone is aware of the “routes” followed by the cruise ships, felucca and other water craft. While most people assume they can hop aboard a boat of some sort in Cairo and then simply head upriver, the fact is that all cruises will either begin or end far south in Luxor. Today there are no cruises departing from Cairo due to the locks and ill-prepared marinas that currently exist along this lengthy section of the river. For now a visitor must board at the southernmost areas and head downriver or they can begin in Luxor and head south.

What kind of Egypt Nile cruises are available? There are an almost limitless range of styles and prices. There are

Dressing For A River Nile Cruise

When undertaking River Nile cruises it is important for the traveller to take with them specific wardrobe supplies and items.  In recent years, fashion designers have begun introducing clothing collections that are categorised as cruise wear to provide stylish and comfortable clothing for those holidaymakers who opt for a cruise type getaway. As with other types of holidays, there are the basic cruise clothing and accessories necessities such as bathing suits, sunglasses and casual clothing such as shorts and t-shirts; these types of attire can cover most types of day time activities and pastimes.  Kaftans and sarongs can provide an extra dash of colour and cover for the female travellers and these are a standard of cruise clothing collections. However, for evening wear, the decisions to be made can be marginally more complex.  Generally, on-board evening entertainment can vary depending on the type of cruise being undertaken.  For more luxurious type trips, more formal evening wear may be required, especially if in receipt of the much coveted invite to sit at the captain’s table for the evening meal.  Often, this can be a black tie event and the appropriate suit or cocktail dress may be required. For less formal cruises, smart casual clothes may be more appropriate such as neat trousers and an open neck shirt for the gents and a more unfussy dress for the ladies.Comfortable footwear is a requirement for all, since surprisingly there is generally a great deal of walking undertaken on board a cruise ship. Here at River Nile Cruises we can help arrange Nile River cruises for any intrepid tourist or those wanting to be part of luxury Nile cruises.  We allow for both formal and more relaxed dress codes and have on-board facilities and entertainment venues which allow for most modes of dress.
